I am a hard of hearing single mother of 3, and I'm interested in taking some sign language classes so that my kids and I can continue to communicate because I am afraid I am going completely deaf and I would hate to lose contact with my babies, or worst lose them because the system feels I'm incapable of providing or caring for them!

This isn't a class, but it's a link to meetings where people are practicing ASL. I think you could learn easily.

Or, you could apply for a Pell Grant, & go to Central Piedmont Community College. Their ASL total program is 13 Total Credit Hours.
You will need CPCC school code to apply for a Pell Grant. The code is 002915.
To get financial aid (Pelll Grant-You do not repay.):

I used to live in Charlotte, & still live in N.C. My son is totally deaf in one ear. He's a Junior at UNC-CH.
Best of luck to you!
