is finger spelling and sign language the same thing? i see pictures of the alphabets and some letters are different. So are they the same even though they have different signs for the same letters?

Yes and No. Sign Language or American Sign Language (ASL) is incorporated of signs, body language, and facial expressions. Whereas Finger-spelling is just the spelling of words such as names that have no sign. But you cannot finger-spell alone, nor can you use ASL alone, they go hand in hand
