okay so, i'm sixteen years old and i've been taking american sign language for three years and i'm going to school for it once i graduate, and i don't really expect anyone to have a striaght answer for me but i'm gonna give it a shot, born hearing when we think in our heads we think in english words, words we hear everday, but for a deaf person who has never heard a single english word, how do they think? they don't know what sounds there signs are making, do they think in pictures? when i began learning this language it grabbed me instantly, and as i grow up i can not wait to work with deaf children as a career, if anyone has an answer for me, thatd be great, if not, i have some serious researching ahead of me
my guess would be they think in pictures, or colors, a way no hearing person would ever be able to understand
oh and please don't get me wrong, i'm not saying the deaf can't in fact think, for three years, 42 minutes a day, 5 days a week, i've been learning how amazing the deaf culture actually is, and how intelligant, don't take this question as if i'm looking down on the Deaf, simply because i'm not
