How Do You Say Miami in American Sign Language?

July 27, 2009

I learned American Sign Language in Haiti (as they use the same sign language there with some variations in initialisation for example...), now I live in Miami I would like know if someone can describe or even link me to a link where I can see that sign.
Thank you.

The sign I often see for Miami is similar to the sign for BEACH, though it uses the ‘M’ handshape.

Basically, the subordinate hand is palm down, and the dominant hand (palm up) rushes against it twice, as waves against a beach.

The best way is to see it, unfortunately I do not see a video of it, but ask a Deaf person or fluent signer in your area and you will see how it is done.

In a lot of ways, ASL is far more so.

Knowing the gestures, grammar and vocabulary concerning each language needs tons of time and attention. This person should be stunningly positive and dedicated in their job. This methodology turns out to be predominantly used inside a public service or social atmosphere.

Telefone interpretation isn't possible concerning the majority of circumstances since Signing will be a language which may need sight.

It has made a contribution to integration and reduced barriers that could have otherwise been very big. Many mothers and fathers and their youngsters have noted extraordinary results and written back to to thank visible language suppliers. It is extremely cheap to enable yourself with the tools.

After studying American Sign Language you can become a signal language interpreter or get a raise in your job after learning another language.
