How Much Do Speech-Language Pathology Assistants Usually Get Paid to Do Screenings?

May 7, 2009

What is the approximate rate per screening an SLP-A would get paid when working for a private practice? Does it depend on the practice, location, etc?
(by screening I mean the 2 minute quick evaluation that is done on kids in the schools to see if they have any signs of speech or language delay. These are offered free of charge to the families.)

Private practices don’t typically pay per screening. The SLP-A would be paid hourly, per diem, or get a salary.
Compensation will depend on experience and location.
Salary.com should tell you more. You could also check asha.org and check out the annual salary survey.

Too frequently, there's no solid promoting methodology, steps to follow or calendar for team members to target. It is also why executive and creative time must be on YOUR checklist, each week, and if you truly want to accelerate your private expansion, each day! This is living and practicing by design, not default ( which gets nerve-wrangling and gruesome quickly ).
