Yes and no, because some signs are similar so you have to make sure you are signing it right. But in other cases no. Again yes and no with the cetain hand. You can use whatever hand you want, but if you are signing you are supposed to use 1 hand, and try not to switch between hands. Hope this helps.
p.s. My sister is deaf, so ASL is like my second language.
