hey all
im looking for a book that i read as a child so i can give it to a friend for her kid.
its about a girl who moves to scotland with her brother and mother and meets a selkie boy.
All i remember is that some of the dialogue is spelt phoneticaly scottish and the girl has hearing problems and her mum won't let her use sign language but in one part her and her brother use the american sign language alphabet to communicate whilst theyre in the car...
ive been looking for this book for years ever since my friends child was born.
if you could help it would be great!!

I'm not sure. The only children's book that I know of that features a selkie, a girl, & her brother is called A Stranger Came Ashore by Mollie Hunter.
