What Is the Best Way to Become a High School History Teacher?

Be a subject matter expert in history and determine what era you would like to teach. You still need an education degree and certification (licensure) to teach depending on what state you live in, the criteria is different. A minor in history would be very beneficial. You may also want to be prepared to do more than teach, as social studies/history teachers often get tasked to be involved with school sports also.
